wooly Hello!

About Sheepy Lady

Wooly Hello!

I was a 4-H member in Sonoma, California  in the 1960s and I raised Southdowns, a breed of sheep. They were small, and really cute, However I showed sheep at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and discovered I needed  sheep that would breed out of season so I got a  Dorset.

After high School in 1971 I went to Santa Rosa Junior College and I took Animal Science classes. I was on the college Livestock judging team.  John Edwards was the professor - an awesome teacher!

Then I joined the Navy in 1975 and had to sell all my animals.

When I got out of the service I moved to Owosso, Michigan and was able to get some sheep.

I started with my first Border Leicesters from  breeder and it turn out the sheep I bought from her had OPP. and I had to start over. Very sad

I bought two ewes from another breeder from Canada and started over.

After I was sure I didn't have o.p.p. any more I started raising  Lincolns.and then Bluefaced Leicesters.

Then Angora goats which are not any thing like sheep. LOL
